Devon Chiropractor | Rob Sandford

My Chiropractic story starts in 1978

Devon Chiropractor, Robert Sandford

Chiropractor Rob Sandford

At the time I was just four months old but Chiropractic literally changed my life.

I was born with a shadow on my lung and after four months of constant chest infection and gastric dysfunction I was being assessed for cystic fibrosis. Fortunately my mother was attending a Chiropractor and after a suggestion from the Chiropractor my health has never looked back. And I have never looked else where – I decided to become a Chiropractor aged 7! I knew that I wanted to help people improve their health and be a catalyst for change in peoples lives the way my Chiropractor had been for me.

My Chiropractic Education

Immediately after leaving school, I enrolled at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic, in Bournemouth – at the time the only full-time Chiropractic college on the UK. I completed the four year degree course, followed by a Masters in Chiropractic, graduating in 2001.

A Little About Me

I am married to Melissa and we have a son named Noah who was born in March 2007 and daughters Poppy, born in January 2010 and Ava born in April 2012- each at home. They all received their first Chirorpactic adjustments after just hours!

I also have three step-children, all of whom were born naturally and have received Chiropractic care throughout their lives. As a family we choose not to utilise medication and none of the children have ever been vaccinated or received an antibiotic. (If that sounds interesting, be sure to ask me to explain!). It is my vision to empower the people of my community to take control of their own health by choosing natural alternatives.

Children make excellent clients

They respond readily to care as they bring no prejudice or skepticism to their appointments. They bring only trust and in turn it is such a delight to see them reaching their fullest potential.

My interest in Chiropractic began after experiencing Chiropractic first hand following a sporting injury that left me in a lot of discomfort with back pain. As a young man, I thought nothing of it and waited for the pain to ease; only it didn’t. Months later and a coincidental meeting with a Chiropractor in Australia, I was persuaded to give it a try. After a short period of care I was not only back to my old self, but feeling better than before. It was then when speaking to the Chiropractor that I began to understand why I was performing better when under Chiropractic care.

I was so amazed by the whole experience, I quit my job, left my home town of Bristol and headed to the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth. 5 years later I graduated as a Chiropractor and have been working in the South West ever since.

I greatly enjoy helping others realise their true potential through Chiropractic care and try to bring a smile to each person I meet.

On a personal note, I love exploring Dartmoor with my wife Sophie – who is also a Chiropractor. I also have a keen interest in TaeKwon-Do, working on my organic allotment and spending time with my family and friends
